Fuel Injector Interchange

Bosch L-Jetronic components don't vary much from model to model. Despite the difference in engine displacement between models and model years, you can use any of these fuel injectors in your FI bus. This is good to know because NOS injectors are often available at prices much lower than the $60-90 new injectors cost. The reason? Many models are gladly converted to carbs by their owners or the owner's mechanics lowering the demand and freeing up the supply for the other FI models.

Note: buses can't use these but I thought I'd list them for identification purposes.

Notes:

The VINs that comprise the 74 CA Automatic bus models that were fuel injected are 214 2 132 408 - 214 2 300 000. I do not know which injectors they used but in all likelihood they were the same as the other bus models.
Any Vanagon with a 24-A-230 000 or lower VIN (80 Vanagons had the old style VIN scheme) are air-cooled and have compatible injectors.
Late FI beetle means VINs ending with 080 255 and up for manuals and 012 800 for automatics.
The beetle injectors either have a curly piece of hose or a long straight piece that is too long. It's easy enough to replace this hose with the correct length for a bus (35mm straight).
